Description

This golden kiwi chips recipe shows you how to make a healthy, crispy snack using a dehydrator, oven, or air fryer. These naturally sweet chips are perfect for on-the-go munching or as a topping for yogurt and salads. Packed with nutrients and free from preservatives, they’re an easy homemade treat everyone will love!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 ripe golden kiwis
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional for extra sweetness)
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt (optional for savory flavor)

Instructions

Dehydrator Method:

  1. Wash and peel the golden kiwis (optional).
  2. Slice them into ¼-inch thick rounds using a sharp knife or mandoline.
  3. Preheat your dehydrator to 135°F (57°C).
  4. Arrange the kiwi slices on the dehydrator trays in a single layer without overlapping.
  5. Dehydrate for 8–12 hours, checking for dryness after 8 hours. The chips should be dry but still slightly flexible.
  6. Let them cool before storing in an airtight container.

Oven Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 140°F (60°C) or the lowest temperature setting.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the kiwi slices in a single layer.
  3. Bake for 4–6 hours, flipping the slices halfway through. Leave the oven door slightly open to let moisture escape.
  4. Once the chips are dry and crisp, let them cool completely before storing.

Air Fryer Method:

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 330°F (165°C).
  2. Arrange the kiwi slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  3. Air fry for 5–7 minutes, flipping halfway through. Monitor closely to prevent burning.
  4. Allow the chips to cool and crisp up before serving.

Notes

  • For extra sweetness, drizzle honey on the kiwi slices before drying.
  • Adjust drying time based on the thickness of the slices. Thicker slices may need more time.
  • Store the chips in an airtight container for up to two weeks. Refrigerate or freeze for longer storage.
  • Use the oven method if you don’t have a dehydrator or air fryer.
